His swing!!! And yes, it is already put together! HA! We are ON it with the assembly of things. We want to get those things done before he arrives!

Hudson's Shower = Picture Overload!!

And let me start by saying, please ignore the swollen mama-to-be, yours truly! I didn't realize how swollen I was until I looked at these pictures! Face, nose, lips, ankles, feet, YIKES! I've definitely got the "pregnant face" now!

Let me now say THANK YOU to all of our sweet friends who put this shower together for us....Donna, Katie H., Heather, Tena, Rebekah, Katie S., Melissa, Julie, Judy, Beverly, Peggy, Pat, & Mitzi. You are all appreciated MORE than you'll ever know and we love you all so much!! The shower was held at the Christian Life Center of the church we grew up in. It is so touching to us that all of you would come together and do this for us. It reminded us of how much we miss you all, and our home church. Hopefully we can come visit with Hudson soon! We love you!

Before I start crying...again....on to the pictures....

This cake was the cutest cake ever! And it is absolutely delicious as well...yes, I said, IS...the rest of it is sitting on my kitchen counter as I type, taunting me....

I told you my mom and I picked up something special for the shower in Birmingham before we headed back to Huntsville. Well...these cookies are it! They are from Icing On The Cookie in Homewood and they did a wonderful job. We only gave them 24 hours notice and they had 60 beautiful cookies ready for us.

We got some carriages, stocking caps, and onesies. They are SO good and I highly recommend the place! They can make all kinds of cookies!

My beautiful mother and Nana.

I had so many wonderful friends help with the shower. Katie (below) & Heather helped me with gifts, and Rebekah registered them for me.

Opening the Pack 'n Play from Melissa and Jonathan. A picture of it set up is in yesterday's post.

We are overwhelmed by everyone's love and kindness!

We got to take this picture home. I'm going to put it in Hudson's bathroom. Thank you so much Donna!!

Katie & Donna got Hudson this adorable Alabama outfit and bib! I cannot WAIT to put it on him! By the way...they cheer for that other team, if ya know what I mean, so this is extra special. ;-)

Guests enjoying the goodies.

A beautiful painting with Hudson's letters underneath. Donna made the letters and gave them to us as well. LOVE them!!

Donna found this toy airplane and rehabbed it a little bit. It was the cutest thing ever! My mom had the picture frame made and I love it so much.

My mom got Joseph a diaper bag to match the stroller system. If you remember my diaper bag from a while back, it's a little feminine and is a lot like a purse, so he needed something he can carry around. ;-)

Joseph's mom redid his old baby blanket. I hadn't seen it before, but it was said to be in pretty bad shape. I can't believe she went to the trouble of redoing it for Hudson. That is so special to us! Thank you Priscilla!!

She also gave Hudson some of Joseph's old baby clothes. This is a little sailor outfit.

Joseph's old painting frock. It looks like an apron, but I'm told it's not. ;)

My friend Rebekah (beside me), and her mom got Hudson some Jean diapers!! ;-) They also got him a beautiful bassinet that hasn't come in yet. What a special gift from very special friends!

Chattin' it up with the SIL after opening gifts.

Joseph and his parents, Tommy & Priscilla

My cousin Crystal, who's due with Logan in June, and my friend Catherine! So glad they were there!! Crystal also has a little boy named Garrett. He's the cutest and sweetest thing ever!!

The (huge) mommy & (handsome) daddy-to-be. :-)

A table of gifts.

More gifts!!! He got some beautiful burp cloths and bibs.

As well as some adorable outfits and onesies.

We are so appreciative!

Even more loot!

My best friend Rebekah and "second mother" growing up, Tena. These ladies are so special to me!!

My sweet daddy and me. He is the best in the world! Hudson is SO lucky to have him as his grandfather and I can't wait to see them together. We haven't decided what he'll be called yet, but I like "Big Daddy". His dad is my "Fat Daddy" and I like how they're similar. We'll see if it sticks. :-)

My wonderful Nana & Papa, my mom's parents. Love them dearly!

Joseph and I can't thank everyone enough for all the love you've shown to us and baby Hudson! We are blessed to know every one of you, and hope Hudson gets the chance to know you too. The next few weeks will be filled with washing, organizing, putting together, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little man. We can't wait!!!

I hope your Tuesday is terrific!

36 Weeks

The second picture shows off the little outie I'm starting to get.

I just got back from my doctor appointment and it went OK. My BP was slightly elevated for the first time so far...or ever, actually! I always have great BP, so I was a little shocked that it was high. But, given all the events that have taken place over the last few weeks, then the busy week with my mom, and my baby shower Saturday, I guess I shouldn't be too shocked. ;) I think that has also caused the swelling I'm having in my feet and ankles...I have a little bit in my fingers, but not much. I definitely put my feet up any time I can, but I just haven't been able to much the last week or so. That's the plan for the next several days...rest and prop the feet up! There was nothing in my urine to cause concern, but she did order some lab work just to make sure everything is looking good as far as that goes. Luckily, this nurse didn't make me look like I've been shooting up. She was gentle! :) The doc checked me and I seem to be right on track for 36 weeks. Not dilated any, but thinned slightly. I'm pretty sure Hudson has dropped a little bit. I was able to breathe better when I slept last night and didn't even have to use another pillow to prop up. I go back to the doc next Tuesday, since the glider is being delivered on Monday, I didn't want to have to worry about booking it to Cullman before or after they come to deliver it. I'm anxious to see how that appointment goes and how things are looking next week!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 36 Weeks down, 4 weeks to go! Whew, where has the time gone?!?!
Size of baby: Between 19 & 22 inches long, and the size of a watermelon! Weighs around 6.5 lbs!!
Total Weight Gain: From here on out, I'll say 25+. :-)
Maternity Clothes: Pants, some shirts, and a couple of dresses. I have only a few regular things I can wear and I pretty much live in the same few outfits because I refuse to buy anymore maternity clothes since I'm so close to the end. I'm ready for my normal clothes...AND my normal body back! :)
Stretch Marks: No. But I have "the line" down my belly.
Belly button in or out: Well, the top part is popping out, and the rest is not too far behind.
Gender: BOY! Hudson Thomas Puckett :)
Movement: Yes! I feel him every day, on and off throughout the day. He is a very active little boy and really likes to play about the time I'm going to bed. ;) His favorite times to move are in the mid-morning and in the evening. He enjoys jabbing me right above me belly button (over, and over, and over), and in my right ribs. :-) It's not the most comfortable thing in the world at this point, but I still love feeling him move all the time. I'm convinced he's trying to figure out a way to bust out with all the moving he's doing in there! HA!
Food Cravings/Aversions: I am finding that I want sweets more lately. Mostly, I just like food in general, but get very full, very fast! I'd rather snack around on small things throughout the day than eat one big meal.
What I miss: Sleeping comfortably, moving comfortably, living comfortably....ha! ;-)
Sleep: I have a hard time getting comfortable at night, and the days of sleeping in are a thing of the past! I have to switch sides every couple of hours. My hips and legs hurt and my arms go numb. Flipping over is a serious workout though.
Symptoms: Fatigue(more like exhaustion), backaches, shortness of breath, frequent urination, and I've been running hot too!
Best Moment this week: We had the BEST baby shower for little Hudson on Saturday. Several wonderful friends hosted it for us and we are so incredibly grateful to them! We can't express our appreciation enough! Many dear friends and family members came to the shower and we are just so touched by everyone's kindness and generosity. Now begins the task of putting things together, getting the car seat in the car, getting his clothes washed and ready, and organizing all the the little things in his room.(AND getting mommy and Hudson's bags packed! Eeekk!) It's so hard to believe that in 4 weeks or less our sweet little boy will be here and we will be parents!! We are so excited to meet him!

We've already put together a couple of things, including the Pack 'n Play that Hudson's Aunt Lissa & Uncle Johnny got for him. :-) Love it! Thank you so much!!!
I will do a post about the shower tomorrow. It will be hard to narrow down the pics, but I'll do my best. I don't think you want to read a post with 143 pictures, nor do I want to write one. ;-)

Have a great Monday!!

The (80% Complete) Nursery!!

My mom and I had a VERY busy last few days! We got a LOT done and we are both absolutely exhausted. HA!

Wednesday, we had lunch at Blue Plate Cafe, and got some cupcakes from Gigi's. Can I just say....chocolate salted caramel.....Oh. My. Word. Heaven! We stayed in Huntsville, but drove all over the place. We went to Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, Babies 'R Us, and a few more places. Thank goodness for the GPS! ;) We picked up the stroller system and I put it together (you're welcome, Joseph!) that night when we got home. It was mostly put together, but the pieces that did need to be put on were quite confusing. The directions were horrible, but I managed to get it together and I love it. It pushes so smooth and I love how it's neutral so we can save it for our next child...in the event we have a girl one day.
Thursday, we set off to Birmingham...after an unexpected arrival from a HughesNet service man at 8:30!! I won't get on that soapbox and I'm not going to say anything bad about the company, but I will say that I won't use them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. It's all we can get out here, so we have no choice! Once we got to Birmingham, we were hungry so we got some Mexican at Habaneros. We did a little shopping at T J Maxx and Target for some things for the house and things for me for the hospital so I can pack my bags. After that, we went to pick up the bedding and just ooh-ed and aah-ed over it. Before heading back to Huntsville, we stopped to pick up something special for my shower tomorrow. (not for me) That's all I'm going to say about that! I'll share more details in my shower post. ;-)

We worked in Hudson's room last night and this morning before mom headed back to Gadsden. I have to give credit where credit is due....she did most of the work in the nursery, because this gal could hardly move! Needless to say, I've been pretty much just sitting on the couch today with my feet propped up trying to rest up for the weekend ahead.

Hudson's glider will be delivered next Monday and I'm waiting until I get it in his room to put up his letter tiles. I want to make sure everything is positioned just right. They were going above his crib, but you'll see why they're not now.

Here are some pics of the nursery so far. It's about 80% done. All that is left is the chair, tiles, a few accessories for the hutch and built-in shelves, and a small TV (that we'll get at some point) for the dresser.
Due to the fact that this room has one unusable wall (it has the door, a closet, and the bathroom) the furniture layout was a little tricky. It's a bigger room, but it's odd. We had to put the crib in a corner, but I like the way it looks. This is why the letters will go above his chair now.

We'll get a small TV to put on this dresser, mostly for us to use at first while we're in there, but also so he can use as he gets older.

We'll also find something else to go on the wall on that side of the room. It looks a little naked.

We found a rug at Lowe's that matches pretty well and it's so comfy under the feet! The chair will go in the hole between the hutch and the nightstand.

I love the way the valance turned out and it's just enough for that window.

The beautiful turquoise monogramming! And I ADORE that paisley fabric. Once I found that fabric, I HAD to have it!

I'm so pleased with how the bedding turned out!

This was my mom's idea and I think it's quite adorable! ;)

Yes, Hudson has his own bathroom. That's awesome! Haven't decided what I'll do with those built-in shelves, but the bottom is the perfect little spot for a hamper. We got the lime green mirror at Target.

Like I said, there are still a few accessories to add, as well as the glider and the letter tiles. The letters are going to be precious! I cannot wait to get them up and show them to you. They will really make the room look more complete. If all goes as planned, the room will be DONE in a couple weeks or less! I wanted to wait until it was done to post pics, but I just couldn't! I had to share it!

My baby shower is tomorrow and I'm so excited to see friends and family, especially those I haven't seen in a while. I have some amazing friends (all of which have played major roles in my life over the years) throwing the shower for me and I am so blessed to have them in my life!

I hope all of you had a fantastic week and you have an even better weekend! :-)

A Little Girl-Time

Joseph is going out of town for business for a few days, so my mom is coming up to spend some time with me.*This is from Mother's Day last year. Hard to believe I'm going to be a mother this Mother's Day! WOW!!*
(flat belly, oh how I miss you!) ha!

We have things to do and get before Hudson's arrival and I'm looking forward to having some girl-time with her for a few days. She's coming up tomorrow morning and we'll have a Huntsville day, shopping around, getting a few baby things done, eating, etc. We're driving to Birmingham on Thursday to pick up Hudson's bedding and I am SO excited about it! I cannot wait to get his room all set up and ready for him. I will definitely put pictures up as soon as it's done! And as long as I've waited for it to get here, it will certainly be done ASAP! ;-)

I may be a little MIA the next few days, as we will be very busy out and about and getting things done in Hudson's room, seeing as how it has nothing but furniture in it at the moment, there's a LOT to be done! Moving and getting the bedding so late really threw me off my deadline for having his room done. I wanted it done months ago!! Now we're less than 5 weeks out and have so much to do. Oh well. I've had to practice a little patience, which isn't always easy for me.

I hope you're having a great week and I'll get back with y'all soon. Hopefully, with pictures of the nursery! ;-)
