We had a fabulous long weekend, and I hope you all did as well!! We did some relaxing, some cooking, some restocking of the fridge with groceries, and we went to see Iron Man 2. Joseph has been wanting to see it for weeks, so we went today. It was pretty good. I think the first one was better. We finally got our new french door fridge yesterday!! Loving it already. We went to Publix to restock it, and spent way too much money.....restocking a fridge and a freezer ain't cheap...even with all the BOGOs we got! HA! We love the extra room though. It was actually a little fun reorganizing everything. Here is a picture of it from Lowe's website. Our other appliances are black, but I don't even care. I love the way it looks in our kitchen, even if it doesn't match the others. My idea is to take this with us to our next house in a few years anyway. I struggled with the idea of losing the ice dispenser (our side by side had one), but when I thought back to how many times we had actually used it, it was clear we didn't need one. If I need some ice, I think I can handle bending over to scoop some of the freezer bin, and I can have some clean bottled water or water from our Brita pitcher. :)
Joseph grilled us some filet mignon, shrimp, and corn on the cob for dinner. It was all so delicious! I'm definitely a meat and potatoes kind of girl, but I love a good salad and some light dishes also. A good steak every now and then is something we love though!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and you have a terrific (and short) week!! :-)

What A Monday!
Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know we did. We didn't really do anything, which always makes for a good weekend. :) First of all, how about that Grey's finale?!?! It was so incredibly intense....so intense that at times I thought I needed to walk away and watch the recording later. But I finished it, and cried....several times. Those are some incredible actors. Awesome. They do such a good job of pulling you in and making you forget it's a show. Thank goodness it is, though. There were some very sad, and scary, moments. I will admit that I've watched it back a few times though. :0 Each time, it's still intense, scary, sad, and crazy! And I cry every single time I watch it. I can't wait til the Fall for next season!
Anyway, enough of that. I don't know about y'all , but my week isn't really off to a good start. The air at the office wasn't working today. Someone (who shall remain nameless) :) left the air off all weekend...while it was in the 90s mind you, and today it wasn't working. It was sucking out some of the hot air (which is better than nothing I guess), but it was not blowing the cold air. It went from 88 to 81 over the course of the day in the office. Not comfortable at ALL! We had someone come to look at it, but they have to come back tomorrow. I went to Publix to do my weekly grocery shopping. When I arrived home and started putting groceries away, I realized that the freezer was leaking water. Water was all over the floor, and everything in the freezer was either melted or in the process of melting. As of now, the fridge is fine. We cleaned out the freezer and turned off the ice maker to minimize water leakage, but it's still leaking water. We called Sears to see about fixing it....they couldn't get out here until JUNE 2ND!! JUNE 2ND!!!! Really? Soooooo, we called another company and they'll be here between 10 & 2 tomorrow. Thank goodness I'm in good with the boss and can miss that much work on such short notice. ;) I'm really hoping this is an easy, inexpensive fix and will be done ASAP. Now would be a really bad time to have to shell out money for a new fridge. The week has to get better right? :) I keep counting my blessings and I remind myself I don't have anything really to complain about. I hope you all had a great Monday and I hope you have an awesome week!

Heaven On a Plate
So I talked about Edgar's Bakery in my post about Mother's Day. I got my mom's cake from them and it was to die for. Well, this morning my husband (who I work with....yes, I'm crazy! HA!) had a meeting, then had to get his oil changed. He called me and said he was starving and did I want lunch. I was starving too because I didn't eat breakfast, so he stopped at Edgar's and got me my FAVORITE lunch from there. The chicken salad plate. I also referenced this in the other post. It is like a little piece of heaven on a plate. They have the best chicken salad, and it comes with fruit, tomato slices, and half a croissant on a bed of lettuce. They serve it with a cup of balsamic vinaigrette, but I don't use it. The best way to eat it is to cut up the tomatoes, grapes (to add to the chicken salad), lettuce, and bread - then put a little of each on your fork, and it's like a tiny chicken salad sandwich every time! YUMMO! I think I need another plate already! :-)
By the time I remembered to take a picture, I had devoured a lot of it! Ha!
My husband also brought me a surprise cupcake for dessert (like I need it!!). But I'm not one to turn down a cupcake....especially one from Edgar's! We did split it though so that makes it better. Another little glimpse of heaven...yep! So, enjoy looking at the pictures....but you should go try Edgar's for yourself - you won't be disappointed!

Anticipation
There aren't many TV shows I make a point to watch every week. I usually just browse around and watch what happens to be on if it looks good. I am so over American Idol that I've barely watched any of it, although I do know who's still in it. Dancing With the Stars kept my attention until Kate Gosselin was voted off. I really just watched it for a few good laughs at her. Is that wrong? Oh well!
There are really just two shows that I HAVE to watch....I DVR them just in case I don't get home in time, I get busy while they're on, or just so I can watch them again. These shows are One Tree Hill, and Grey's Anatomy. I didn't start watching One Tree Hill until about 1 1/2 years ago. I've been hooked ever since. Grey's Anatomy is a show that I watched early on, stopped watching, and then started back a couple of years ago. It makes me wish I was a doctor...which I thought about being a long time ago. Well, both of their season finales are coming up. Grey's is tomorrow, and One Tree Hill's is Monday. I'm DYING of anticipation. The episode of OTH from this Monday left me literally on the edge of my seat! Grey's is supposed to be really intense, because a shooter comes into the hospital. The anticipation is killing me, so I have to find some way to make the next like 19 1/2 hours fly by! I'm sure I will be crying. A. Lot. They say no one is safe, even the characters we know and love. I think it's going to be a very emotional finale. But, they've signed on for another season in the Fall, so some good things have to come of it, right?!? I hope! Ok. I'm done obsessing over Grey's!
It's Wednesday....HUMP day!! Friday is approaching. Woohoo! Have a great rest of the week.

Lazy
We have had an extremely lazy weekend! I mean, we've been major bums!! We did absolutely nothing on Saturday. We ordered Chinese food for dinner, watched "Edge of Darkness", which was good, and SNL. It was pretty funny this week. It's been pretty lame the past several months...aside from Betty White's awesome performance! Speaking of which, we recorded that...maybe I'll watch it later. :)
Today, Joseph cut the grass and trimmed the massively overgrown bushes! I mean, you can't begin to understand how overgrown they were.....and still are. We'll have to take the electric hedge trimmers to them again next weekend. Those things are awesome by the way. I would honestly like to rip everything out and replant some prettier, but still maintenance-free things. See....I have NO green thumb whatsoever! I mean...NONE!! So, my sweet husband did that while I cleaned up the house a little bit, and cleaned out and organized a closet and finished the first one I started a few days ago. A few hours later, I have an "organized" closet, tons of stuff to throw away, and a lot of things to try to sell. (not that I want the money for them, but I figure at least they'd go to someone's home instead of a landfill) I hate clutter, and can't believe how much "stuff" we've accumulated over the years. After Joseph's wonderful yard work, I baked some chocolate cookies to reward him. I MAY have had a couple of them myself. Ha! To take our lazy weekend one step further, instead of cooking we ordered some pizza from Papa Saia's, our fave pizza place. I promise I will cook a good, healthy meal every night this week to make up for it! We were due a nice lazy weekend at home, so it was very welcomed. I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend, and I hope you all have a tremendous week!

Mother's Day
I know Mother's Day was a week ago, but I wanted to post some pictures from lunch with my parents. My mom LOVES cake. She lives for birthdays and weddings so she can have some cake. So, for Mother's Day, she cooked lunch and we ate at their house. I was responsible for dessert so I decided to go all out and get her a beautiful cake from Edgar's Bakery. Edgar's is THE place to get cakes, sweets, desserts, etc. They also have wonderful lunch...the chicken salad plate, YUM! So I surprised my mom with one of Edgar's Mother's Day cakes and my mom flipped out! I really wish I had recorded her reaction, it was priceless! Needless to say, she liked her cake. Isn't it beautiful?
I am very blessed with two parents who love each other, and love me more than anything. I am also blessed to have both sets of my grandparents still here. They mean more to me than anything, and I hate being far away from them. Holidays mean more now that I'm grown up and moved away, so I cherish those times I get to spend with them. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Welcome!
Welcome to my new blog!
I started this blog to keep everyone up to date on the happenings of our lives. This is my third shot at a blog so, hopefully I can keep it updated this time. I've been such a slacker in the past, but maybe I can find some exciting things to blog about. To be honest, I'm pretty boring, but I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for joining me!
