29 Weeks!

I feel like every Monday my belly is popped out so much more! At this point, it looks like I have a ball stuck under my shirt. Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant for a second when I'm standing straight on at the mirror, or from behind if I'm checking out my hair. Then, I'm quickly reminded when I turn to the side! HA!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks!

Size of baby: Around 17 inches long, and the size of a butternut squash. Weighs about 3.1 lbs!

Total Weight Gain: 19 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Pants and some shirts. Length is becoming a problem with shirts.
Stretch Marks: No. But I am getting "the line" down my belly.
Belly button in or out: Still in. I think if I were carrying higher, it'd be out. The bottom part of my belly button is more shallow than the rest of it!

Gender: BOY! Hudson Thomas Puckett :)

Movement: Yes! I feel him every day...some days more than others. He is a very active little boy and likes to play about the time I'm going to bed. ;) His favorite times to move are in the mid-morning and in the evening.

Food Cravings/Aversions: Just give me food! No specific cravings right now.

What I miss: Sleeping on my back, being able to breathe through my nose, and being able to do things (even around the house) without getting winded or exhausted. But, that's what I have such a rock-star hubby for, right?! ;)

Sleep: Sleep has been OK, but is starting to get a little uncomfortable.

Symptoms: Tiredness, backaches, nasal congestion, shortness of breath, and the frequent urination is coming back.

Best Moment this week: I'm just really trying to enjoy the last weeks of this pregnancy. It's hard to believe there are only 11 left, unless he comes before April 25th. I've had it really easy, and for that I am so incredibly thankful. I'm noticing that I'm starting to get uncomfortable, winded quickly, and really tired again. But I still am so thankful for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby! It has been such a pleasant experience thus far and I'm trying to cherish the last weeks as much as possible. Joseph and I would like to go on a "Babymoon" at some point, but I'm not sure if that will happen. Maybe we can get a little weekend trip in somewhere! :-) We have our last monthly appointment(I'll then go every 2 weeks for 3 visits, then it's every week! AHH) and our 4D ultrasound next Tuesday and our parents are coming along. We can't wait to see Hudson in 4D, and I know the grandparents-to-be can't either! Can't wait to see who he looks like. ;-)

Reunion

I love getting to see old friends, and people I haven't seen in a long time. It doesn't happen too often, unfortunately, but from time to time, especially when I'm in Gadsden (where I grew up) I run into friends from high school, college, church, etc. Well, I wasn't in Gadsden yesterday, but I got to see my favorite teacher from high school!! Missy Bryan was my marketing teacher and the advisor of the DECA group I was in. She was my absolute favorite teacher! We always had such a blast in her class and she really knew how to be not only a fantastic teacher, but also a friend. I'll never forget one day I got sick in her class, she let me sit in her little office (or sit on the floor hovering over the trash can, whatever) and called my mom to tell her I was sick. She took care of it all so I could quickly be checked out and head home. She and I formed a close relationship in the 2 years she was my teacher and I think the world of her to this day! She's one of those people you can go without seeing or talking to for months or even years, and you just pick up right where you left off. She is one of a kind, and no one will ever match her! She retired from teaching last year and lives a short ride down the interstate from Birmingham. She was in town yesterday and came by our office to see us. We were so excited to get to see her. She also taught Joseph and they too had a great relationship, so it was a wonderful reunion. I don't think we'd seen her since our friends' wedding almost 2 years ago. We talked for a while and enjoyed reminiscing, catching up, laughing, and even a little crying. (mostly from this hormonal lady here!)

And yes, even though she looks younger than me, she DID just retire! She hasn't changed one bit! Still as beautiful and sweet as ever.

I can't wait to see her again, and I also can't wait for her to meet Hudson! He'll love her as much as I do! It's impossible not to! :-)

It's freezing here in Alabama and is snowing AGAIN in many parts of it. Luckily, it's just done a little sleeting and sprinkling here. Punxsutawney Phil better hope he's right about this early Spring. Otherwise, they're gonna have to beef up his security! HA! I usually like Winter, but I have never been so ready for Spring in my life! I'm sure meeting my sweet Hudson has something to do with that too. ;) Bring on the warm weather! I'm ready for a beach trip!!!!

Wordless Wednesday - Doggy Edition

I discovered Etsy before I got pregnant. I would spend time just browsing through the categories, but loved the kids' stuff!! The majority of their things are handmade and the prices are pretty reasonable. People list their items and you can buy them directly from them. There are some wonderful finds and deals on Etsy. There are also some things that (in my opinion) cost too much money, and are so simple it doesn't make sense to me to pay for it when you can make it yourself for SO much less!!

Like this.....

It's an announcement, on a piece of paper, that you can do yourself in no time! It's meant to be put in a frame. Not knocking the seller...it's a GREAT idea and is very inexpensive, and I'm sure a lot of people would rather pay the money to have it done for them than to take the time to do it themselves. In this case, I'd rather do it myself!

This would all depend on your art skills.....

I'm doing something like this for Hudson's room, but like I said the other day, I'm having the letters appliqued onto the same fabrics we're using for his bedding, and I will finish them by wrapping the canvas tiles in them, stapling the fabric to the back of the tiles(much like recovering a dining room chair), and hanging them on the wall with chocolate brown ribbon. This version looks more like it's painted on to me. Well....I'm not artistic AT. ALL. I can't paint well, draw well, you get the idea. So, if I wanted this look, I'd pay the money, because if I tried it would be one big fail! :-)

These are monthly onesie stickers that look like they're part of the shirt when applied. I'll put one on him each month and take his sweet picture for monthly updates! They are adorable on a simple white shirt or onesie!! I can't do these myself, so I don't mind paying $10 for 12 of them!

And how stinkin' cute are these???!?!!!! (the items AND the sweet babies!!)

I CANNOT sew, crochet, knit, NOTHIN'! I'd happily pay $12 for one of these!

I really like Etsy, but I feel that a lot of the items are things you can easily do yourself. It just depends on how willing or able you are to do so. And if you'd rather pay the money to have it done for you, that's fine.....sometimes I definitely think it's worth it to just have things done for me...whether to save my sanity, time, or the trouble. I like to browse not only to find things that I DO want to order soon, but also to find ideas for things I can make myself. I recommend checking it out, but you have to browse through a bit to find the really good deals/finds. It's also a great place to get ideas, as I said. I haven't bought anything yet (although my mom did get my camera strap there), but I do plan on at least ordering the stickers in the next couple of months. I will continue using it as an idea site, and order the things I either can't live without, or can't make myself! HA! ;-)
