Rainy days are nice every now and then (and we did need some rain), but not when they fall on a holiday. Booo. We didn't have any big plans or anything but being cooped up in the house while it poured (almost) all day wasn't in them either. Oh well. We made the best of it and had a nice family day.
My super creative 4th of July project....HAHA!
We didn't have blueberries so we had red, white, and purple kabobs. Hey, sometimes ya gotta improvise!
Thankfully, it didn't rain alllll day long, so we were able to continue with our grilling plans.
And we do have a retractable awning to keep the rain at bay. That's pretty sweet.
Bryant was praying for a piece of meat to drop.
I made Hudson a tiny little cheeseburger to try. He's not the biggest fan of meat, but will eat chicken, turkey, and hot dogs. Getting him to eat red meat is pretty much impossible. He liked the burger and we were shocked!! He didn't eat too much of it, but just a few bites is far more than I thought we'd get out of him.
OK, y'all. For the last week, Hudson has been OBSESSED with "Wagon Wheel", the Darius Rucker version. I mean, we listen to it a minimum of 286 times a day. And now I'm ready to delete it from my iTunes. :-)
But for the last few days, he's been doing this weird thing with his arm and I have been trying so hard to figure out what it was about. Well, last night while we were eating dinner, we were listening to the song(ya know, they say pick your battles, right?) and he started doing it. I finally figured out what he was doing.....mimicking Darius Rucker's pose. Kids are so silly!! They catch on to everything!
How was your 4th? I hope you got to get out and enjoy a little sun, water, or whatever it is you like to do on your holiday.
TGIF!!
aww sorry it was rainy! that stinks! although i could use a little less heat in my parts!
ReplyDeleteIt was a gloomy day here in N. AL. Raining on and off all day. We tried to make the best of it without the sun and swimming.
