25 Weeks

I uploaded a real picture....not with the iPhone! HA! Excuse the PJs...we're stuck at home today.
You'll see that most of my answers haven't changed.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 25 Weeks!!!
Size of baby: Around 13 inches long(head to toe). Weighs about 2 lbs! WHOA!!
Total Weight Gain: 16 pounds! I've read that is pretty right on track....just seems like so much to me!!
Maternity Clothes: Pants! I've had to get a few shirts, mostly for length.
Stretch Marks: No. But I am starting to get "the line".
Belly button in or out: Still in, but it's getting more shallow.
Gender: BOY! Hudson Thomas Puckett :)
Movement: I feel him on a daily basis now and love it. He's usually the most active mid-morning and in the evening. Lately he's been waiting to be active when I'm laying down for bed! HA! I've been able to lay there and see my belly move when he kicks. It's wild!
Food Cravings/Aversions: I haven't been craving anything new, or really anything at all for that matter. I just like food! OH wait!!! I was craving some lemonade the other day, which is weird because I'm usually not a huge fan of it..I like it, but never really just want some. I got some Simply Lemonade with Raspberry at the store and it is delish!!! I highly recommend it. :-)
What I miss: Sleeping on my back, being able to breathe through my nose, Caesar salads..silly, I know...due to the raw egg in the dressing, I can't have it!
Sleep: Sleep has been OK...just can't get enough of it! HA!
Symptoms: Tiredness, backaches, nasal congestion, and a few things I'll spare you! ;)
Best Moment this week: Nothing major...just continuing to feel Hudson move around. Joseph felt him pretty good the other night. He kicked him a few times in a row!! HA!

Joseph and I are stuck at home today, as is pretty much the rest of Alabama, due to this "winter storm" we got last night. Our storm consisted of nothing but sleet, sleet, and more sleet!! No fun! I'd much rather have some white stuff to play in (like my parents, who have about 7 inches of it!!)....it seems we never get the snow here where we are, but that's OK. Maybe one day.....
:-) I hope y'all have a great day, snow or not!

Second Chances

I'm sure you've all heard of the "man with the golden voice". He is a homeless man who is a former radio DJ. His story is so touching. It just goes to show that God loves us and he gives second chances. It doesn't take much to make me cry, and this story is no exception. It touches my heart to see someone beat the odds and turn their life around the way he has. His story also makes you realize just how blessed we are, and how thankful we should be for what we have. He went from having everything, to having absolutely nothing. Now he is working on getting his life back together. He was on Today this morning and shared his story. He is so humble and thankful and it shows. He also has such a sweet spirit and demeanor about him and I truly hope this is a sign of great things to come for the man with golden voice (which he really does have BTW!).

Today I worked on getting the house de-Christmasfied. I hate taking Christmas decorations down. It's kind of depressing and makes my house look so bare when it's down. It also puts me in a cleaning frenzy for some reason and I have to clean everything! I guess that could be seen as a good thing too! HA! I got everything down and put up except for the outside lights and the tree. And since the tree is 9 feet tall, I think I'll wait until Joseph is here to help me with that! The lights outside can wait until Saturday too! They're turned off (so I don't end up being "that" neighbor), just not taken down yet. :-) It's always shocking how naked my house looks without all the decor. I took a few shots of my mantle when I got the normal decor put back on it....just for fun...and I had to have some more fun and revamp them a lil bit! ;)

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! It seems like this week has gone by quickly...not that I'm complaining!! ;-) Grey's Anatomy comes back on tonight and I am SO excited! I'm a little obsessed with Grey's. I hope your Friday treats you well! ;)

You Know You're Pregnant When.....

If you saw my Facebook status today, you know it's been one of "those" days for this pregnant girl. It prompted me to do this blog post. It's given me some laughs and I'm sure it will you too. I can totally relate to some of these....some of these have happened to me...and some of these I just thought of or found online.

Enjoy!

You know you're pregnant when:

You suddenly understand why your mom always said "after all I've done for you..."

Every commercial on TV either makes you sad or hungry.

You feel like you want to eat someone's head one minute then cry because you are feeling particularly lonely the next.

The thought of a particular food makes you hungry and nauseous at the same time.

Aside from home and work, the place you spend most of your time is the doctors office.

You have a near meltdown when you ask for ranch dressing with your salad and they bring you honey mustard.

You are happy to be able to get through your entire dinner without gagging!

You're so moody your dogs run and hide.

You crave everything you see on TV...unless that thing is a McRib. *gag*

You get a full 8 hours of sleep (or more) every night and you're still exhausted.

You eat a dinner that consists of California Rolls and a few Zaxby's chicken fingers and cole slaw and it was the best dinner you've ever had.

You refrain from drinking beverages at least an hour before you go to a movie, because you know you'll be up in the middle of the movie if you do.

You love stretchy pants like never before.

You drop something on the floor and wonder to yourself how much you really need it anyway.

For once in your life you actually want to have a belly, and you're anxiously awaiting for it to "pop" any time now, and you wear fitted shirts to make it more obvious that you're pregnant and not just getting fat!

You have been using the "I'm pregnant" excuse since the day you found out you're pregnant.

It takes you an hour to type a two-line email because you can't remember what you were emailing about.

You write everything on a post-it note...and then lose the post-it notes.

You down about 4 pickles while standing at the fridge.

You have a meltdown when you run out of pickles!

You have a snack and some water on your nightstand every night for when you wake up hungry.

You dread sneezing because you know it may cause pain...among other things! ;)

All you want to eat is carbs.

You are normally impeccable with spelling and grammar, but find yourself misspelling even the simplest things.

You find the baby section of Target exciting and could stay there for about 3 hours.

You would literally do anything for a Krispy Kreme doughnut....anything....

You now want a Krispy Kreme doughnut....

You go into the baby's room at least once a day just to look at it one more time!

You know there are so many other things I could put...some of which aren't things you'd want to share! HA!

I hope this gave y'all a few laughs....I'd love to hear your own if you have some to add to mine!!
Happy Hump Day!

Guest Bathroom Mini-Makeover

I've been wanting to revamp our guest bathroom for a while, especially since we'll be having more guests staying over in just a few months. Joseph uses it as his bathroom, which is awesome for us. It works great for us to have separate bathrooms! It is small, but that makes it pretty easy to decorate and keep clean. I didn't take a picture of the before, but it didn't really have a "look". It mostly centered around the shower curtain. It was a Nicole Miller and I fell in love with it when I found it at BB&B (that's Bed, Bath, & Beyond). I threw some neutral towels we had with it and left it at that. We've had it for over 4 years and I've been growing tired of it...even though I never go in there...it's just not my style anymore. It's a neutral curtain with squared sections that have different patterns. It's a little fancy and fru-fru and I wanted a more simple, clean look.

So, I did a little looking online and found what I wanted at Target. So I went out and got this....

I wanted something either solid white, or white with a simple border, to open up the room. I love how fresh and hotel-like it looks.

I'm not a huge fan of bath rugs. They can often look cheap and don't wash well. You know the ones I'm talking about...the cheap fabric with the rubber bottom. Not a fan. But this one is all fabric, nice fabric...no rubber on the bottom, so it will wash well and it is so comfy and soft under the feet!!

I got a few towels to match, and added this monogrammed towel to them. It matched the colors great.

And I had to get a little hand towel to put by the sink.

I know bathrooms aren't exciting, but I wanted to share the face-lift I gave ours last night. The room looks much brighter, more open, and put together with its new accessories. Now I need to tackle organizing the cabinet under the sink with things for guests...towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, etc.

I hope your first workday of the new year was good to you. It sure is hard to get back in the groove after a holiday. I think I wrote or typed 2010 at least 8 times yesterday! HA! I'll get used to 2011 in a couple of months. ;-)
