2 weeks

It's crazy to believe the twins are already 2 weeks old, as of Monday. It seems like they've been part of our family forever. We're all adjusting to life as a family of 5 and Joseph and I are adjusting to less sleep again. I mean, who really needs sleep anyway, right?

Big brother is doing great and loves the twins. He can't get enough of them and is constantly wanting to hold, kiss, and hug them.

We're getting in a routine and slowly establishing a schedule. They're doing great. They usually have a feeding every 3 hours and are pretty good about going back to sleep after a nightly feeding. Sometimes they like to hang out for a while before falling back to sleep so it's a good thing they're cute. ;-)

They nap in their room during the day and sleep in our room at night. I'm not sure when we'll move them to their room at night but I definitely plan to do it sooner than later. We waited too long with Hudson and I'm not doing that again. Once we moved him, he started sleeping so much better!

We had their 2 week checkup today and the doc said they look great!! They've both passed their birth weights and lengths. We go back at 2 months.

We had some pictures made this weekend so I thought I'd share a few that the photographer already sent me. I cannot wait to see the rest!!

Kinda wish I had rethought the cut-out maxi. HA! Looks a little awkward.

I'll share the rest when we get them! I hope you're having a great week!!

And thanks SO much for all the congrats, sweet messages, and words of encouragement. I may not get to respond to them all, but I read and appreciate them so much!

Life with Twins

You can probably tell by my lack of posts that life with twins and a toddler doesn't leave you with a whole lot of free time. ;-)
I've got posts in the works, I promise, but today I just wanted to share some pictures of what life has been like at home.

Heading home to big brother last week!

Double the babies, double the feedings. Big brother had to help out.

I forgot how much newborns sleep!! (during the day, ha!!)

Like I said....

But all that napping leaves plenty of time with this guy.

Speaking of this guy, he's doing really well with the new babies. We're trying to keep things as normal as possible for him and this has helped a lot. I've seen a tad bit of jealousy, but I involve him in things as much as I can and spend some time with just him so he doesn't feel left out.
Overall, he's really doing great and loves the twins.

Sweet Miss Raegan

Our first picture as a family of FIVE!
(Hudson's mouth was full of grapes!)

And a little update on me...I'm recovering really well and feel really good! Can I just say...I am LOVING not being pregnant anymore!! Just keepin' it real. No more waddling, shortness of breath, or acid reflux. *cue Hallelujah chorus* I had a wonderful, pleasant pregnancy but it got pretty miserable in the last few weeks.

I'm 8 days postpartum and have said goodbye to 30 pounds.
The pic on the left was taken at 35 weeks(that last bump pic I took), the one on the right was taken this morning.
The belly goes down a little more every day. I keep reminding myself it doesn't happen overnight, especially after housing TWO babies in there.

Joseph went back to work today and it's a little hard on me. His help has been invaluable and we've been able to bond as a family with our new additions so it's hard to see him go. He's seriously the best daddy ever! Thankfully, I've got my mom here to help and she's been amazing. There's no way we'd make it without her help.

I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of posting soon and I'll share some more details, our day to day routine, etc. Right now, we're adjusting to less sleep, getting to know the personalities of our new little ones, and enjoying the bonding time. Following me on Instagram (larpuckett) is the best way to keep up with me right now. :)

Happy Tuesday!

3 Became 5

So, I'm FINALLY on my computer for the first time in days because......

WE HAVE TWINS!!!!
Born Monday, 9/9/13 at 3:41 and 3:42 pm, Grayson Wells measured 6 lbs, 2 oz/18 in long and
Raegan Elise measured 7 lbs 2 oz/19 in long. They were born at 36 weeks, 6 days.

They are beautiful, HEALTHY, and perfect!! They've captured our hearts and we can't get enough of them. They are just the sweetest little lambs.

Big Brother thinks they're pretty awesome too!(and we think the same of him!!)

I will keep this short and sweet and post more details later.
We are elated, overjoyed, and blessed beyond measure!!
Our hearts and our family are complete in a greater way than we ever imagined.
We couldn't be more thankful for the 3 precious miracles we've been given.

Hudson Happenings

I haven't done too many Hudson updates lately. I haven't really done too many updates at all lately! Oops.

Hudson is always doing something silly and he knows he's entertaining. I think we may have a future actor or comedian on our hands....or a musician....
Do y'all think he has enough guitars?? Also...I'm not sure why we even have a playroom!

I wish I could even explain to you how much this child LOVES music!
He's usually singing and playing for me all day long.

Did I mention that playroom?

We were so excited about the first Bama game of the season Saturday. All of us! It looks like Hudson is really getting into it now. He'd yell "GO" , "NO NO NO!!" and other things at the TV. Several times during the game, he'd take off and just run and run and run around the house like a mad man. Pretty sure he was imitating the players.
Silliness.

He and Mr. Bunny are already pumped for the TAMU game next weekend!!!

Hudson is really excited about the babies and likes to go in their room to look around or just sit. He still hugs and kisses my belly and says hi to them all the time.
He loves seeing babies on TV, in person, or in pictures.
I hope he feels this way when it's HIS brother AND sister that come home and stay home with us!! :) I'm preparing for a little jealousy but really hoping he'll handle it just fine. We're going to have a rule for anyone who comes to visit the babies. They must first visit with and love on Hudson. The babies won't know the difference(and they'll get PLENTY of love and attention) but Hudson will and it is of utmost importance to us that he never feels neglected, forgotten, or replaced.
I want this to be the smoothest transition possible for him, which also means things need to be as routine as possible. Kids thrive on routine and normalcy and we're going to do our best to make sure his routine isn't totally turned upside down.
We have our weekly doc appointment tomorrow and we're all anxious to see what comes of it! I've been having contractions and pressure like crazy. I'm ready for them to be the real thing and get this show on the road, honestly.
I shall keep you posted. :)

Twins Tuesday - 36 WEEKS!!!!

I realize the blog has turned into an "all about twins" blog, and that posts have been scarce, but since I'm really not doing anything but bakin' these babes, I have nothing else to write about. And if I do, I'm too tired! HAHA!
I hope you guys had a great Labor Day and I'm thankful that it wasn't MY labor day, since my doctor was out of town. ;-)

How Far Along? 36 Weeks.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I really don't know, and I don't care to know! What I DO know is I'll be hitting the diet/workouts hard as soon as I can after their arrival!!

Genders: BOY AND A GIRL!!! Grayson Wells and Raegan Elise!

Maternity Clothes? Yep!! With the exception of a few things at home and some maxi dresses, I'm in maternity everything. I'm barely holding on to a lot of my maternity clothes. Shirts are getting too short!

Stretch Marks? No. Thanking the good genes for that one. Not sure how much bigger the belly can get before some finally surface, though.

Sleep: Sleep is OK. I get up to pee like clockwork every few hours and can pretty much just sleep on my left side. Both babies' feet are on my right side and every time I try to sleep on that side, they remind me that they don't like it!

Movement: Yes. Anywhere and everywhere, especially from baby girl.

Food Cravings: The sweet tooth has been in overdrive the last several weeks, although recently I haven't had the biggest appetite, period. I try to eat fruit, some yogurt, or even a little cereal when I want something sweet. I start and end almost every day with a cup of OJ.

Food Aversions: If I get a whiff of something less than appetizing in the morning, that'll get me to gagging.

Labor Signs: I have contractions on and off all day(nothing regular), pressure, and am dilated to a 4. Our doc appointment isn't until Friday this week and Joseph thinks that will be the day.
I'm wondering if I even make it to the appt.

Symptoms: Getting tired out quickly, acid reflux(especially at night), shortness of breath, frequent potty breaks, contractions, difficulty getting off the couch without help, haha!!!

Belly Button In or Out? Very much OUT!

Wedding Rings On or Off? On

Miss Anything? YES, but I'm trying really hard to cherish these last moments of pregnancy.
Some days that's easier said than done. :)

Best Moment This Week: The last long weekend (and possibly weekend, period) with just my boys!

Looking Forward To: Meeting these two sweet babies! I feel so much better knowing we're now at 36 weeks. They're a week away from being full-term and if they were to come today I'd feel much better than if they had come 2 weeks ago! Praying for healthy babies and NO NICU!!!

We will have babies in 2 weeks or less, and that's a fact. The doctor won't let me go passed 38 weeks so we'll have them on the 17th, if not before. EEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!! I just cannot believe the time is here, even though I have literally been pregnant this ENTIRE year!! It's lasted forever but flown by at the same time. Crazy how pregnancy works like that.
We'll see how they decide to enter the world. They may wait until they have to be forced out in 2 weeks, or they may come in the middle of the night (that would really be a treat for this control freak!!).
I'm anxious to see how and when they make their debut!
Anyone wanna guess when they'll arrive?? Winner gets a night of baby duty!! :-)
