Hudson's First Halloween

Saturday we traveled to Gadsden to take our little trick-or-treater to visit our families. He loved the attention, as usual, and loved showing off his costume! Now we're not all into the scary part of Halloween. (although we do love a good scary movie every now and then) We don't do the creepy decorations, zombies, death, and all that. To me, it's just a fun time to dress up and and have a good time with friends and family. We want Hudson to think of it as a fun time too...so you'll probably never see him in a scary mask, a zombie costume, or anything like that. I really don't like the idea of my sweet child pretending he's a monster or a psycho killer. :) So this year, he's our little cheeseburger!

Here are some pictures from our fun day! (I took tons and it was hard to narrow it down to these!)

I hope y'all have a fun and safe Halloween!

6 Month Checkup

Hudson had his 6 month appointment today and got a great report!

The doctor is very pleased with his growth, both physically and developmentally, and said he looks wonderful! He said he can try any solids he wants now, including table foods, as long it's cut up small enough for him. No honey until 1 year though! It's the risk of botulism with honey, since it can't be pasteurized.

Hudson is a big boy! He is about average for both height and weight, which is good to know. It's hard to believe that in just 4 more pounds, he'll need to be in a new car seat. Wow! We're going to have to seriously start the hunt for a convertible/booster car seat very soon.

He did pretty good at the appointment, but when the doctor put his stethoscope on his back he started crying and cried a little bit the whole time the doctor was checking him out. It could be a little stranger anxiety too. Shots were also pretty traumatic this go-round but after a couple of minutes of snuggle time all was well again. It was also nearing nap time so this didn't help either. He was knocked out about 2 minutes after we left the parking lot and slept hard all the way home. He just woke up from an 1.5 hour nap and feels better. :-) I'm hoping the shots, especially the flu shot, don't bother him too much. They usually just make him more tired.

I'm glad he got a good report from the doc and he's looking great. We don't go back until the end of January for his 9 month appointment so it's nice to get a good break for a while. We do go back in 4 weeks for the second part of the flu shot. :( No more shots until 1 year after that though! YAY!

I hope y'all are having a fantastic Monday!

Football Weekend

We watched the Bama game (of course) last night and it was a little worrisome there for a few minutes. Joseph's parents, brother, and future sister-in-law came up to watch it with us. We had a good time eating some pizza, cheering on the Tide, and playing with this little cutie.
"Mom, this game is a real nail, er um, toy phone biter!"

"C'mon guys, you're stressing me out here! I'm too young for gray hair!!"

"This is intense!"

"Yay, they've got their mojo back! Roll Tide, Mom!"

"Whatchoo doin' wearing my hat?"

"Well, it is a pretty sweet hat so it's cool."

"We're too wiild and craaa-zy guys!"

Hope you all had a great weekend! Have a wonderful week. RTR!!! :)

New Fall Faves

Oh. My. Gawd. This stuff is SO good. It's not like hit-you-in-the-face pumpkin. It's just the right amount of pumpkin and it is delish! I'm not a huge coffee drinker but every year when Fall and Winter roll around I have some here and there.

I don't remember where this candle came from, but I discovered it a week or so ago in my kitchen. It smells divine! Fall in a jar, sho nuff!

Umm, yeah....'nuff said! This is at Target, FYI, and I suggest you go buy it. Now.
