Thanksgiving

We had a great first Thanksgiving with our little man! He did great throughout the very long day and entertained everyone very well and kept them busy. ;-) We visited with my family for lunch, then went to see Joseph's family for a bit. His family came up to our house on Saturday for a big Thanksgiving/Iron Bowl gathering. Over the last few days, we've had a lot of delicious food, fun fellowship with friends and family, and watched the Tide beat Auburn and (hopefully) claim their spot in the National Championship. I think they've MORE than earned a rematch against LSU! Here are some pictures of the day, just in random order. I was so busy Saturday that I didn't even turn my camera on. Shame! I also didn't get a picture of the 3 of us together...double shame! We need more family pics!

Today is also my father-in-law's birthday! (I told you...lots of birthdays the last few months of the year!) He's a wonderful man and I'm so blessed to have him as my "other father." My Nana's birthday was the 23rd, but in the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving I didn't get around to doing a post for hers. She and I have made some precious memories over the years and I am so glad I still have her here to make more memories..with me, and with Hudson. She loves him like crazy and for that I am thankful!

I love you both very much!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving filled with good food, fellowship, and reminders of what you're thankful for. The Christmas season is officially upon us. I hope to put up pics of the house all decorated in the next few days. There are a few more things I want to do first before it's all done. Y'all have a wonderful week!! :)

Happy Birthday Joseph!

My sweet husband turns 27 today! Now we're the same age again. I turned 27 in June. I'm a cougar, I know! ;-) Joseph and I have shared many birthdays together. (We've been together since we were 16!!) But this year's birthdays have by far been the best, because we got to celebrate them with our precious little man. It's been a great, lazy day....just the birthday Joseph wanted. We don't make a big deal out of birthdays and don't shower each other with tons of gifts, but I did get him a pair of pajama pants and a shirt I just couldn't resist.

He had gone to get pizza and put the pants back on but not the shirt. They're Stewie(JP loves Family Guy) pants, in case you can't see them well. ;)

Classic Stewie, and since Joseph loves Facebook I had to get it.

He's an amazing husband AND father!

I don't know what I'd do without him! I hope I never find out!! Thank you for being you....my husband and partner in this wonderful life, the best father I could ever imagine for my child, the love of my life, best friend, better half, the hard-working provider for our family and so much more! You are the absolute BEST! I hope your birthday was one you remember for years to come.

I love you to the moon and back!

Wordless Wednesday - Hudson's Tree

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Note To Self.....

This afternoon, we were in Hudson's room decorating his Christmas tree. I'll post more on that tomorrow. ;-)
I was letting him "help" me, aka: play with some ornaments while I decorated. He really liked them.

Everything was going great, until.........
I decided to let him check out one of the "ornaments"....his tree has a theme....like I said..I'll show you tomorrow. (Oh, you should probably know that said "ornament" plays music and dances....plays "DJ Got Us Falling In Love" to be exact...totally random, I know! I got it 'cause it went with the theme, not 'cause of the music.)

"Mom, I'm not 100% sure about this thing......"

Evidently it's pretty loud and scary to a 7 month-old.....
He FREAKED out!!! At first I thought it was a fluke, or he dropped his paci, or something else. Yeah, well, every time I pressed its hand to play the music.....freak-out! So.....

We stuck with the tiny ornaments instead. :-)

Now I know for next time...no creepy singing & dancing toys....or Usher songs. ;-)

Pictures from the Weekend

This weekend was pretty low-key, but Saturday we had some friends over and watched the Bama game. It was on PPV (dumb!) so we ordered it, ate some good food, and cheered on the Tide.

Here's Hudson with Jenna and Conrad. He loved getting to play with his friends! ;-)

Love these guys...two peas in a pod!

Someone was NOT about to give up that paci for a picture...not for a second!

Silliness....

"Whoa, Mom, I wasn't ready!"

LOVE!!!

Yeah, I pretty much avoid pictures these days, that's why you see none of me. Maybe after I lose a little more weight I won't mind being in them. Once I get passed the holidays, I'm definitely going to kick-start this weight loss thing....eating well and exercising. I'm not even going to attempt doing it now....I know there's no hope with all the delicious food that will be around me.(believe me, I've tried it during the holidays before!) ;-)

Y'all have a great week! It's one of my favorites of the year...Thanksgiving AND Iron Bowl! Bring on the family, food and football!
