I haven't been posting much lately because there hasn't been too much going on. I'm still dealing with the loss of my sweet grandfather and it's getting a little better every day, but he's still missed so much! I think about him constantly. Hudson and I haven't been up to very much during the days, just the same ol' same ol'. He's just cruising, crawling, and I'm just waiting for him to let go and walk independently any day now. Yesterday, he stood alone for at least 10 seconds...at least. I was just standing there in shock! I thought he might try to walk but he just stood there. He was very steady, too....didn't shake, wobble, or anything the whole time. Other than that, he's just crawling like crazy, getting into EVERYTHING, and eating more and more finger foods. (he loves cheerios, cheese, grapes, strawberries and green beans are iffy, mashed potatoes, although those are a rarity, watermelon, and a few others)
One thing that is going on is the fact that we are moving. Yes, moving...again...less than a year after our last move. As most of you know, we moved up to Huntsville for a job opportunity for Joseph that he couldn't pass up. It happened rather quickly so we didn't really have a lot of time to look for a house. We knew we wanted to rent because we're not prepared to carry 2 mortgages (we still own our house in Alabaster) and we didn't want to commit to a house, not knowing the area very well and where we wanted to ultimately end up. SO, we decided to look for another house that is better for us (more convenient location, a little smaller and closer to civilization, ha!). Seriously, our current home is pretty far out in the country, which I have a love-hate relationship with, and is about 3300 sq ft!!! Too big for us right now...and for this lady to keep clean. The new home is in the Owens Cross Roads area of Huntsville and will save at least 35 minutes for our families from Gadsden, and is like 3 minutes from Publix and 10 minutes from Target!! That's huge for me. Right now, it takes us about 20-25 minutes to get to Target, as well as Hudson's doctor, and that's just unacceptable. It's impossible to take a quick trip anywhere and that gets mighty old. Anyway, sorry to ramble so much....this move will be really good for us and I hope to stay here for a couple of years then either find us a nice house to buy, or some nice land to build! I really want to build! We'll see how that goes. We're moving Friday. Yes, Friday. That's 3 days. We've hired movers, of course, and are just about packed up so hopefully we'll be ready and the move will go smoothly. As smoothly as it can go with a 9.5 month old. As long as he handles it OK, that's all that matters. I'm ready to get it over with!
And last but not least....a couple of pictures from the last few days.
We stayed at a hotel while we were Gadsden last week and Hudson LOVED the big mirrored closet. He kept playing with "the baby in the mirror". :-)
He loves this zebra bike so much! His grandmother & grandfather Puckett got it for him and he plays with it all. the. time. We pull him on it sometimes(hence the belt around its neck, ha!), but a lot of times he'd just rather walk with it. ;)
I hope you're having a great week! :)
