Aquarium Trip!

We decided we were tired of being cooped up in the house during all the rain we'd had, so we made plans to head to the Tennessee Aquarium Saturday morning. We want to do some fun things with Hudson before the twins arrive and we knew he'd love the aquarium.

Apparently, everyone and their aunt had the same idea because it was packed!! A weekday probably would've been better...lesson learned. Unfortunately, it rained the entire way there and during our visit, so we looked like wet dogs most of the day. We had a great time anyway!
We're currently "too cool" for pictures.

Loved the turtles, and boy, did they have a lot of them!

We also loved all the little ladies in attendance. He found him about 10 girlfriends.

Like I said....too cool.
The lighting in this picture is horrible, because I still had my camera settings set for the dimly lit aquarium, and this was in the bright, well lit gift shop! I tweaked it enough to make it somewhat decent, though.

We (seriously both of us) could've stayed at the penguin exhibit all day.
They are so much fun to watch. They interact with the crowd and love the attention!

This little guy hung out with us for a while and Hudson loved him!

And some more pics from our visit. The quality is terrible due to the awful aquarium lighting and fast moving subjects...and I hate flash.

You could stick your hand in and pet these fish....um, no.

I caught a shot of Dory. :)

"You talkin' to me??"

Because I can't take the time to put the pics in order...we're back to the penguins.
With our friend again.

No.

The jellyfish exhibit has an INSANE amount of these critters. There are way more types of jellyfish than should be allowed. I mean...why? Yuck!

These jellyfish were TINY! Almost cute.....almost.

Upside down jellyfish. Creepy.

And now crab legs have been ruined for me! (OK, not really. They're too good!)

Even though it was a rainy, gloomy day, we had a blast spending it together doing something fun. Hudson was such a sweet boy and took it all in. We're hoping we can fit in a trip to the zoo and maybe a fun waterpark before these new additions arrive.
We'll still take the time to make memories with just Hudson once they do come, but it won't be as easy as just picking up and going so we're trying to take advantage of it while we can.

How was your weekend?

  2. Yes, nearly half my FB friends had post about going to the TN aquarium during the rainy holiday weekend we just had. It's been years since I've been but looks like it's time to go back. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I wish we had an aquarium in my city :( It looks like so much fun! Did they have one of those tunnels where you can walk under the tanks?

    1. Well, this one is about 2 hours away from us but it's worth the drive. They don't have one of those, but there are several spots where you can look up and see animals in the tanks. Just not a full tunnel. That would be awesome!
