Love

I LOVE love! I love that there's a day set aside to celebrate love. It's fun....a little(OK, a LOT) commercialized, but the idea's still nice. Of course, real love doesn't need a special day to make you celebrate it. I'm thankful for a husband who tells me and SHOWS me he loves me every single day. But it's fun and sweet to do a little something special for Valentine's Day.

Special days like this call for fun heart-shaped peanut butter toast sandwiches for breakfast. Hudson won't eat peanut butter toast if the PB gets on his hands, so I make it a sandwich. He eats it ALL up!
I don't have a heart cookie cutter and did this with a knife alone. I was pretty proud.

This day also calls for pretty, special V-Day balloons at Publix. (Never shoulda let him have that first balloon. I created a monster.)

My favorite way to show the people I love just how much they mean to me is with a nice, homemade meal...complete with the freshest of ingredients.
I made my Creamy Shrimp Pasta, but kicked it up a notch by adding in some lump crab meat.
Nom nom nom!!
I also used fresh basil and parsley, tomatoes, mushrooms, and parmigiano-reggiano cheese.
Fresh ingredients make ALLLLLLL the difference!

Perfect meal to make for your Valentine! And it's not gonna keep you in the kitchen for hours, either!

We don't go all out with the gifts, but we do treat each other with a lil sum'n sum'n.
We saw The Campaign in the theater and Joseph loved it. It's pretty funny. I can guess what we'll be watching later. The chocolates may have been just as much for me as they were for him. ;)

It's always a sweet surprise to get some beautiful flowers from my man. He's a thoughtful one.

I hope you guys had a beautiful Valentine's Day...whether it was spent with your family, your friends, your significant other, your precious children, or your absolutely fabulous self!! Enjoy that chocolate. Start the diet again tomorrow!! YOLO! ;-)
